Our History
Established in 1975, Yosemite Church has been a place where people can find Jesus, find community, and take their next step of faith. Through seasons of growth, transition, and change, God has remained faithful.
1975 — The Beginning
Yosemite Church was established in 1975 under the leadership of Pastor Jack, beginning a story that would continue to unfold through generations of people in the Merced community.
1991 — A New Season
Pastor Jeff stepped into leadership at Yosemite Church, beginning a 35-year season of faithful ministry, growth, and investment in the church and its people.
Growing Beyond Our Walls
As Yosemite Church continued to grow, we eventually outgrew our original building. While a new church home was being built, the church family worshiped in several temporary locations—including Cruickshank Middle School, Castle Air Force Base, and a local Seventh-day Adventist church.
2005 — A New Home
After years of growth and transition, the new Yosemite Church building was completed in 2005, giving the church a permanent home for the next chapter of its story.
Today — The Story Continues
Today, Yosemite Church is entering a new chapter. After 35 years of faithful leadership from Pastor Jeff, we welcomed Pastor Jason as our new Lead Pastor. As we honor the legacy of those who have faithfully served before us, we look forward with excitement to all that God has ahead.
The story of Yosemite Church continues—with a new generation of leaders, new opportunities to reach our community, and the same mission that has guided us from the beginning: meeting people where they are and loving them to where Christ wants them to be.
